Huaxia Bergen School Notice (School open on 03/13/2016)

Dear Parents,

1. Chinese school will be open on March 13th, 2016.

2. Daylight Saving Time starts this Sunday; please remember to turn your clock 1 hour forward.

3. Our school debate contest will be held in cafeteria at 9:30AM.

4. There will be a graduation test this Sunday for our graduating students. Best of luck to our students.

5. 2016华夏运动会将于5月1日在普兰斯堡中文学校举行. 现在开始接受报名, 请和领队韩伟联系 (whan48@yahoo.com)

6. New class to try out: “数、理、化免费答疑班” 10:25 am – 11:10 am 教室：122
这是一个面向所有我校注册学生的免费服务项目，同学们如果有任何数、理、化方面的问题，可以在第二节课，到122教室，由经验丰富的教师和学生义工负责答疑解惑。
我们同时欢迎学生义工加入到这个免费的服务项目中来，请有兴趣的同学和教务助理忻颖联系。

7. There are nine board members (Board of Directors) in our Huaxia Chinese School at Bergen, Inc. Three board members will retire and we need to elect three new board members this year.

According to our school bylaw, the eligibility for electing new board members are:

Member:
a. student over age 18 who is registered in a minimum of one class per semester.

b. parent, legal guardian or grandparent of a student under age 18
who is registered in a minimum of one class per semester.

c. administrative staff member, current teacher, program coach.

Non-member: interested in promoting Chinese education. Such individual shall be nominated
for election to the Board by the incumbent Board of Directors.

We prefer someone who has two year experiences of teaching or working or volunteering in our school. If you wish to apply for or you know someone who is a good candidate, Please send us a brief message about the nominee qualifications. The deadline for nomination is March 27, 2016. 8. PCHS complained last Sunday that there were messy chairs and desks in one of the classrooms and some of the teaching materials were even missing. Please be advised that all of our students, teachers, and parents are responsible for keeping the classrooms and school facilities in good and original condition after using.
